Shish Barak-Lebanese Dumplings Served in a Warm Yoghurt Soup

This weekend Ivan and I went to a place new to us called Alforon in Chula Vista. They have a huge menu and while
everything looked really amazing, I was on a quest to have Shisk Barak which I had not eaten since I was 19 years old while living in Jerusalem. Shish barak is made of ground lamb stuffed into a dough and then served with a warm goat yoghurt soup. While Alforon’s Shish Barak was delicous, my husband’s kebab and the spicy humus wouldbe my personal recollection. As an FYI, Shisk Barak is one of the dumplings CNN recommends you try and I agree with them, it is a very unique comfort food.
